Let’s Write is a podcast about those dream movie and TV ideas that only exist in our heads, the sort of story “what ifs” that you just can’t stop thinking about.
Our big spring project wraps up today with the release of AGE OF MONSTERS, our take on a hypothetical crossover between the universes of Pacific Rim and the MonsterVerse (Legendary’s Godzilla/Kong led Kaiju franchise).
A “what if” on Godzilla throwing down with the Jaegers from Pacific Rim has been near the top of our list of dream projects since we started this show two years ago. And with the fact that Godzilla vs. Kong is a real thing that really exists, somehow now the idea doesn’t seem quite as far-fetched (or perhaps it never was!).
Brainstormed over two episodes of the show, our concept ties the two universes together into a larger Kaiju multiverse, bringing the current arcs to an epic conclusion and opening the door for a brand new era of Kaiju storytelling.
To “pitch” this project, we’ve taken those podcast sessions and turned them into a couple of different explorations of the story.
As usual, we have a full story treatment for the film, which you can download and read using the links below. This time however, we also worked with a number of really amazing concept artists who helped us bring that story to life. Plus, for the very first time, we’ve scored it, with an original music suite that you can listen to now.
This has been the biggest project we’ve ever undertaken on this show to date, and we’re beyond thrilled to finally get to share it with you. We hope you enjoy it, and if you have any thoughts (sequel ideas maybe?), we’d love to hear from you.
